I still want that nudey Chino pic

Something wonderful is going to happen, but first...the Ladyfest gig. It was for the Big Issue as well; there were free copies of it everywhere, and a vendor was there (D-Boy made us have a whip-round for him). The bands were:
- Tom and Vee: two male singing guitarists, one electric, the other acoustic. Lame.
- D-Boy: fat singer/songwriter who apparently was only just learning to play keyboards. His music was a bit boring but he made us all laugh, especially when he threatened to 'get gay' with a random guy. He covered Tatu and Britney and tried to get all the girls to sing the high bits. Only I obliged him.
- We Start Fires: rock band with keyboards. The keyboardist made Franny-ish noises, she had this thing (an Oscillator?) which when she pressed it went "Wheeeeeoooooooowheeeeeoo". They were good, very energetic. Chloe bought their EP. The keyboardist apparently wants to puke whenever she sees Avril Lavigne, and I don't blame her.
- The Suffrajets: my favourite band. When Distinction's out, I'm buying it. Shelly the guitarist played with her TEETH! Not seen that before...I wish all those men who say women suck at guitar had seen the gig, they'd eat their words. She is the best guitarist I have ever seen. I told her. Amazingly she didn't think I was a twat. Instead she hugged me and went off with her boyfriend. They were the heaviest band there, I'd say they were punk. They're System fans. Good taste, ladies. Even the fact that Dave likes them doesn't put me off.
- Velvet Shore: boooooooooooooring. All their mums were in the crowd. You could tell they were because they were the only old women in the place, and moreover were the only enthusiastic people.
- The radical cheerleaders: well, they weren't a band but they did a sort of interludey bit and took the piss out of Velvet Shore, as well as doing an East 17 routine. I wish they'd been on longer. They were funny as fuck and one of them looked like the guitarist from Kittie.
- Hooker: the band I really wanted to see cos they were in the feature in the Big Issue. I thought Zoe the singer was 15. She is actually 23. Whoops. She sounds like, to quote the woman in charge, "PJ Harvey on speed". We saw only two songs cos they took ages to set up and then we had to go. I fell in love with Zoe instantly.
I came out with a fuckload of flyers from the merch women; a Suffrajets poster that I robbed off the wall; and a Ladyfest CD. Brutal.
Chloe and me might be going to Ladyfest Manchester, which is wonderful indeed. But it gets better. Gina, Aidey, Takesy (who isn't going with us but is going to the same gig) and me are going to see...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................this is fun....................................................................................................................................................................................THE DEFTONES AND A PERFECT CIRCLE!!!!!!!!!!!
